Recycling empty ag containers at our retail location(s)
Growers in Alberta/Manitoba recycle several ag plastics once they’ve been used on the farm. That’s items like used pesticide & fertilizer containers, seed, pesticide and inoculant (SPI) bags – materials that are recycled through Cleanfarms.
At , we’re proud to participate in Cleanfarms’ programs by hosting collection sites at several of our retail locations across this province.
And we’re looking forward to offering our customers new opportunities to participate. With a change that began in 2022 and that will gradually continue through 2024, empty ag jugs up to 23L that have been taken to municipal landfill and transfer sites for recycling will soon be welcomed at our retail locations, along with your non-deposit totes and empty SPI bags.
Cleanfarms is phasing in the program province-wide in both Manitoba and Alberta to harmonize collection with other provinces.
Some/many ag retailer locations may have already added these services and we invite you to check with your local ag retailer to find out when and if they will be doing so. We will also provide more detailed information as our retail sites add ag jug collection facilities at additional locations.
We also encourage you to check the Cleanfarms transition map for containers up to 23L to see the plans for transition in your area, and the Cleanfarms collection site maps, to keep up with changes as they become finalized.
We look forward to adding this extra opportunity to serve you better.
