Follow 3 steps to ensure that your totes & drums are accepted and can be recycled:
- Rinse –Thoroughly rinse drums & totes to ensure no product is wasted.
- Seal – Seal container with all bungs and enclosures in place (if not rinsed).
- Return to your local collection site* – Contact your collection site to confirm which totes and drums are accepted; for more information see: collection site maps
*Do not remove the metal cages on 1000L totes; otherwise, they will not be accepted. Note: Fertilizer totes from selected companies can be returned. Ask your ag retailer.

FAQs
I’m unable to fully drain my bulk pesticide containers? What’s next?
Drums and totes with excess product left inside should be safely stored inside, on-farm and brought in to Cleanfarms during the obsolete pesticide collection for safe disposal.
Why do we need to empty and seal the containers before we bring them to collection sites?
This is an important step that enables the totes and drums to be transported according to transport regulations. If containers are not empty and sealed the transporter cannot legally transport them.
Why do we need to keep the metal cages on the 1000L totes?
Cageless totes are not safe to transport. Our transporter is obliged to have metal cages on the totes in order to safely transport them.
