1) Review Requirements

The farm must ensure that:

• Only eligible and properly prepared and separately bagged materials will be requested for pickup. All ineligible and improperly prepared materials will be rejected. See “What’s in” and click the program pages for more info on preparation steps.
• Material is easily accessible (stored outside), in an area free from obstruction, in one central location and on a solid/flat surface.
• Pickup will be requested only when the volume requirements listed above are met. Photos will be provided at the time of request as confirmation that the volume requirements are met.
• Pickup requests will be submitted by email to Cleanfarms and will include the necessary site information, quantity information, list of drums and totes (if applicable), required photos, and notes.
• Outreach attempts by the driver/ logistics coordinator will be answered. The request will be cancelled if there is failure to respond.
• Someone will provide loading assistance to the driver. This may include manually loading material such as drums and/or bags of material, or the use of farm equipment with fork for caged totes.
• Ensure that all actions will contribute to maintaining health, safety & environmental care.
• Failure to comply with the above may result in fees and/ or losing access to this free service indefinitely.

2) Register with Cleanfarms

• Register by emailing info@cleanfarms.ca, and provide the farm name, full address information, directions, GPS coordinates, contact name, two email addresses, and two cell phone numbers.
• Review/complete the sign-off form and email it to info@cleanfarms.ca or your Cleanfarms contact.

3) Request a pickup

Submit a pickup request to Cleanfarms by sending an email with the subject line “On-Farm Pickup Request in [Province]” and includes in the body of the email:

• The farm name, address, and cell phone number.
• The estimated number of bags/bundles of pesticide & fertilizer jugs and/or seed/pesticide/ inoculant bags and a picture of the pile of bags for quantity verification. Indicate if a roll of collection bags is required upon pickup.
• The full list of non-deposit drums and totes. Note: if the container isn’t on the list, it will not be collected.
• A description of where the material is stored on farm (ie in front of the barn) and a picture of the materials storage location for easy identification by the driver.
• Notes on when collection will/ will not be permitted (i.e., “any day from 8 to 5 but please call 2 hours in advance” or “not available Thursday [month & day]”.
