The empty container recycling program plays an important role in protecting the environment by keeping recyclable materials out of landfills and preventing them from being burned.

Canada’s crop protection industry launched this program in 1989 and it is one of Canada’s first voluntary extended producer responsibility programs. It continues to evolve to meet the needs of Canadian farmers and ag-retailers.

Like all of our programs, this program’s success is built on the collective commitment of farmers, manufacturers, retailers, distributors, municipalities, provinces and policymakers to keep Canada’s agricultural communities clean.
