In some cases, provincial governments regulate packaging as a way to support and finance waste diversion efforts and ensure a level playing field. CleanFARMS monitors provincial regulatory activities in order to ensure that its programs can operate efficiently and sustainably under the variety of packaging frameworks that exist across Canada.

It is provided to help explain where CleanFARMS’ programs fit in to a province’s regulatory framework and provide information about how regulations may impact certain types of agricultural packaging.
